City to clear crossing bridges of vendors The Jakarta Post, Jakarta | Jakarta | Tue, April 15 2014, 6:50 AM Jakarta News The City Transportation Agency, in cooperation with the Public Order Agency (Satpol PP), will remove vendors operating on pedestrian crossings in Jakarta. Transportation agency head Muhammad Akbar told kompas.com that his agency was currently collecting data on crossing bridges occupied by street vendors. “We [the agency] are still looking at which crossing bridges are being used by vendors,” Akbar said on Monday. Akbar said that as soon as data collection was finished, he would immediately hand over the data to the Public Order Agency. “We [the Transportation Agency] will cooperate with Satpol PP. Our job is to only make a list of the crossing bridges. Satpol PP has the authority to clear the crossing bridges,” said Akbar.
